Rain’s military controversy causes future celebrity recruits to rethink their decision

Celebrities who were considering entering the army as celebrity recruits are now rethinking their decision after Rain‘s controversy.
The label of a famous vocal group recently stated, “Three of the members have to go to the army right now. They are considering going to the army and not as a celebrity recruit. It’s not even that celebrity recruits have it easy, but taking that position is controversial and there are many pitfalls in doing so. They’re going to have a hard time hearing things such as, ‘they just have it easy’ at the army.
Another label of a solo male artist stated, “We don’t know what branch of the military he’s going to go in, but he won’t go as a celebrity recruit. We think it is the wisest to just go quietly for 2 years.
In the past, male celebrities used to avoid the army, and even though some would enlist as a celebrity recruit they would be universally accepted just for going to the army. However, after the recent controversies, celebrities are under more scrutiny and they are judged on what they do and how they perform in the army as well. To the public, going as a celebrity recruit seems like they didn’t really enlist properly but just had their celebrity life extended into the army.

2PM’s Chansung and Joo Won wear skirts on ’7th Grade Civil Servant’?

Joo Won and 2PM‘s Chansung were caught wearing ‘skirts’ on the set of ‘7th Grade Civil Servant‘.
The pair were snapped on set, waiting for filming to start in the cold. They wore thick coats against the cold, but apparently that wasn’t enough. Joo Won layered two blankets over his pants, and Chansung used a heart-patterned blanket to create skirts for themselves. Joo Won complained cutely, “It’s too cold outside,” and Chansung responded, “Oh my gosh. You worked hard during filming today,” after seeing their photos appear on Twitter.
The photos were completely different from their drama characters, especially in the case of Chansung. Unlike his cool agent character, he was playing around in the photo while he waited to film.

Baekho added, “It’s true that we do have B.A.P on our minds. For me, I think B.A.P has turned out well. I do get a bit jealous about their active role [in the market]… Seeing B.A.P, I thought that we should work hard as well,” revealing his honest thoughts.

Crying Nut files a lawsuit against CNBLUE for copyright infringement

Indie band Crying Nut recently filed a lawsuit against idol band CNBLUE for violation of copyright.
The band filed against CNBLUE and FNC Entertainment CEO Han Sung Ho at the Seoul Central District Court on the 12th. CNBLUE previously performed Crying Nut’s “Offside” on ‘M!Countdown‘ back in 2010 and the recorded performance was later included in their DVD released in Japan.
CNBLUE’s camp stated, “The recorded performance included in the DVD released in Japan in 2010 was put in by the manufacturer without notifying us… During the World Cup season, CNBLUE performed this song on ‘M!Countdown’ because the broadcast station requested it. At the time we refused the offer due to our busy schedules but the broadcast representatives stated that they would provide the instrumental and so we came on stage. After coming on stage, we realized that it was Crying Nut’s song.”
On their involvement with the issue, Mnet commented, “We are looking into the situation.”
Update: A media outlet has obtained a statement from CJ E&M‘s Mnet representative, who admitted that they were the ones who asked CNBLUE to stand on the stage and that FNC were not asked before the performance was added into the DVD. He commented, “CJ E&M licensing team already reimbursed Crying Nut last year. It seems with this lawsuit, Crying Nut is also finding that CNBLUE is also responsible for getting on that stage… Since the problem arose from Mnet’s program, we will take responsibility and sort this out. We are currently negotiating with CNBLUE’s agency and Crying Nut. We will try our best to solve this situation.”
